• Landings Workshop - Recurrent Training

All pilots want to make good landings. We know that our passengers usually judge the entire flight and the pilot’s proficiency solely on the quality of the landing. A pocket full of FAA certificates and ratings and a fat logbook do not guarantee a great landing. The foundation of our landings is strengthened by knowledge, skill, and proficiency training to maintain it. The foundation is weakened by complacency, overconfidence, and skills fade.

This extensive workshop is recurrent training and assumes that the pilot is knowledgeable and skilled in landings but provides some
reminders and some suggestions to help fortify the foundation. Several recent accidents are discussed and analyzed in detail.

The workshop, live or virtual, requires commitment of seven consecutive hours (6 hours of instruction, a morning and afternoon break of 15 minutes each, and a 30-minute lunch break. Successful completion of an online test is required to earn FAA Wings credit.

Attendance for the entire workshop will qualify for 1 Credit, Basic Knowledge Topic-2, 1 Credit Advanced Knowledge Topic-2, 1 Credit
Master Knowledge Topic-2, 1 Credit Advanced Knowledge Topic-1, and 1 Credit Basic Knowledge Topic-1 in the FAA Wings Pilot Proficiency program.
